The eldest Trump daughter has raised concerns that the president’s tax returns may be under audit, and said the White House has not complied with her request for documentation.
“I want my tax returns.
That’s the only thing that I want,” Ivanka Trump told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Wednesday night.
“And I think that’s fair and right.”
Ivanka Trump said she and her father have had a series of phone calls with officials from the IRS, which would be the first time they’ve had a chance to talk directly with the president since he announced his candidacy for president in June 2015.
“We have been getting calls from various people, and they want us to provide them with the paperwork, the tax returns,” she said.
“I think it’s fair, it’s a right.”
White House press secretary Sean Spicer confirmed that the administration has had no communications with the IRS on Ivanka Trump’s request, adding that Ivanka Trump has asked for documentation about her father.
The IRS told Fox that it has received Ivanka Trump and her team’s requests, but would not elaborate on what the documentation is.
