Hyperion publisher Dark Souls publisher Hyperion has released an open letter on their official website addressing concerns over the Dark Souls franchise.
The letter was penned by Chris Sawyer, Chief Product Officer at Hyperion.
It reads in part:While Dark Souls is known for its rich world, rich storytelling and world building, we’ve also created a world that can be more accessible and fun for all players.
For that reason, we are releasing a series of downloadable content (DLC) for Dark Souls III: The Art of the Dark.
These updates will provide a richer experience, with more content, new weapons and armor, new abilities and new boss fights, as well as an all-new game mode that will be available to all players once the new expansion is available.
We believe that these updates will help players feel like they have an active role in shaping the world of Dark Souls and will be an essential part of the franchise’s continued success.
We’ve already seen a lot of positive feedback from players, and we hope that we will continue to receive positive feedback to make the DLC even better and more fun for players as well.
We have to keep in mind that the DLC is not exclusive to the game.
We will continue updating it as we find new content, and if there is anything missing, we will address it as soon as we can.
In the letter, Sawyer states that the content is available “to everyone,” but that it is “still under development and we will update the content as soon we can.”
He goes on to say that the Dark souls DLC is “designed to provide more content for the players who are currently enjoying the game” and that “we are still learning and adjusting to this new format.
This is something we will keep working on in the future, so we will be sure to keep you updated as we work on this new DLC.”
